Anonymous Agent: Last time you didn’t fully cooperate. Please don’t make the same mistake again.

Convict Alexandra Stella: What do you mean, didn’t cooperate? I answered every damn question you maniacs gave me

Anonymous Agent: Your programmers weren’t much help either

Convict Alexandra Stella: What did you do to them

Anonymous Agent: Never mind what was done to them. They didn’t cooperate, much like how you left information out last time. I’ll ask this once more, how many types of Monommy are there?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Nine. That hasn’t changed. I don’t know what madeup bullshit that other type is.

Anonymous Agent: Perhaps I worded that poorly. How many kinds of Monommy are there?

STELLA SHIFTS IN HER SEAT, A LOUD CREAK IS HEARD

Convict Alexandra Stella: Uprising and Downfall had 80. We made 40 brand new ones for the sequel as well. What else do you want me to say?

Anonymous Agent: We issued incomplete information to the public. We’re trying to protect humanity from the monsters you created-

STELLA SLAMS HER HANDS ON THE TABLE, HER HANDCUFFS CLATTER AS SHE DOES SO

Convict Alexandra Stella: WE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! I don’t know why Monommy is suddenly real! I don’t know why the anomalies are happening, and Monommy and Clear Seed – my team for that matter – have NOTHING to do with this.

Anonymous Agent: But you are the creator of the Monommy franchise, correct?

Convict Alexandra Stella: …Yes.

Anonymous Agent: That makes you the most knowledgeable about the anomalous lifeforms, then. Whether you agree with it or not, there are living creatures walking the Earth as we speak who perfectly resemble your characters, with the same abilities, causing the same kind of chaos you feature in your cartoon.

Convict Alexandra Stella: We don’t make the show, that’s an overseas team in France.

Anonymous Agent: We’re getting off track here. You say there’s forty others in addition to the eighty previously mentioned?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Yes. In total we designed 120 Monommy. We didn’t finish programming them all into the game, we never finished Lightspeed and Darkmatter.

Anonymous Agent: And you continue to claim you have zero association with the gored Monommy?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Yes. We never designed any of those. It was an All Ages rated game, that would have never gotten past the censors. We had a hard enough time getting some of the designs approved as is, we would never have had a Monommy like the one you showed me. The thing you showed me. It wasn’t a Monommy.

Anonymous Agent: Of course. Moving on. Last time you provided us with descriptions of the various tribes of Monommy represented in the Uprising and Downfall game. This time I’d like you to describe what’s referred to in the game’s code as the Monommy species.

Convict Alexandra Stella: Those are the internal terms. The ones the player would have seen were Type and Class.

Anonymous Agent: Yes. Explain the Classes for me please.

Convict Alexandra Stella: Alright, that’s something I can actually tell you. The whole motherly theming was something I decided on fairly late into the development of the series bible. Originally Monommy had a more generic fantasy theming to it, but I was advised by the higher ups at Clear Seed that the IP needed something to set it apart. I was talking to my mother about it and she jokingly said I should theme it based on her, to show the world what an incredible mother she is. Later on I was looking at the lore I had written up to that point and realized that the Monommy, which were unnamed at that point, acted as a sort of caregiver to humanity as it developed in Frewosz – the setting of the game. And I realized that “cool magic moms” was a pretty interesting theme to set it apart from other fantasy series.

Anonymous Agent: So Monommy was essentially humanity’s parent, in the game’s story?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Yeah, basically. They were a powerful civilization of magical beings that existed for thousands of years before humans, but their power needed to be contained as their magic wars were threatening the planet. When humanity came into the world, humans were the newest of them and seemed weaker than Monommy, and as such they felt a desire to nurture them and help them grow. It’s an innate desire all Monommy feel deep down, although some need convincing. By nurturing early humans power, Monommy discovered that Humans had the highest power potential, due to their natural ability to absorb and adapt to use Monommy powers. Monomasters – the kids and adults who partner up with Monommy and can use their powers – are the result of that, bringing out the latent magic power in humans and amplifying Monommy back to the power they once had. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement, and I think it’s actually a really strong metaphor for-

Anonymous Agent: You’re getting off topic again. Thank you for being thorough but please, the classes.

Convict Alexandra Stella: Right, sorry. Like I said, Monommy was originally more like a traditional western fantasy setting, so although the Classes, or species as we originally called them, are themed after various names you’d call your mother, they were originally standard fantasy races. That’s why they all at the very least have pointed ears. I retconned that to being a monster trait and we got the name Monommy – monster and mommy together. When we changed it, Fairies became Moms, Dwarves became Mamas, Elves became Mommys, Demigoddesses became Mothers, and the Goddesses of Monommy became the Grands – like a grandmother, but also important and big, get it?

Anonymous Agent: The wordplay is not missed on me. Fairies, dwarves, elves, demigods, and goddesses. Now that they’re all synonyms for mother, is there anything that sets them apart physically?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Yes, there’s a few things. Mommy and Mother class Monommy are the only ones who retain their memories when they reincarnate, for one. Mama class Monommy don’t have eyes and see using what’s basically a magic version of echolocation, although it doesn’t really matter, they basically act as if they can see like something with eyes would. It was a leftover from when I was considering the Dwarves to be like mole people. I scrapped that idea pretty quickly but the eyeless thing stuck.

Anonymous Agent: I see. Go on. Any other physical differences?

Convict Alexandra Stella: The main physical difference is their size and general body plans, although Monommy bodies vary wildly. Moms, since theyre fairies, are very small. Mamas are the next size up, but they’re shorter than most humans by a significant margin. They’re dwarves after all. Mommys are around the same size as humans and integrate with human societies moreso than the others. Then Mothers are usually solitary and more serious, usually stronger and always taller than the average human.

Anonymous Agent: Can you be a little more specific with sizes?

Convict Alexandra Stella: Yeah. Mom class Monommy never exceed three feet in height. Mamas don’t exceed five feet. Mommys don’t exceed 5’11”, and Mothers are always at the minimum six feet tall.

Anonymous Agent: Minimum? Is there a maximum?

Convict Alexandra Stella: No, but the largest Mother class Monommy is something like a hundred feet tall, if I remember correctly. It’s been a long time.

Anonymous Agent: What about the Grands?

Convict Alexandra Stella: They can change their size at will, but they’re all typically bigger than other Monommy. Especially the Grand Mother.

Anonymous Agent: Who is the Grand Mother?

Convict Alexandra Stella: She’s the goddess of Fre

VIDEO FEED IS STATIC FOR FOURTEEN MINUTES AND THIRTY SIX SECONDS

Anonymous Agent: We didn’t create this one, it isn’t gored like the other ones you claim to have no affiliation with, and it’s not one of the 120 you’ve listed for us here.

Convict Alexandra Stella: Let me see that

SOUND OF PAPERS SHUFFLING, STELLA MUMBLING SOMETHING UNINTELLIGIBLE

Anonymous Agent: What is it?

Convict Alexandra Stella: That looks similar to a glitch we had in Uprising and Downfall. It corrupted players save files.

Anonymous Agent: You didn’t intentionally create it?

Convict Alexandra Stella: No, but this one is different, too. It just looks similar to the indexfal glitch. Something else is wrong about it. Is that- an eye?

VIDEO FEED RETURNS TO STATIC FOR FORTY SIX SECONDS, AUDIO IS STILL CLEAR

Anonymous Agent: If a glitch became real too, then it’s likely the source is the game.

Convict Alexandra Stella: I wouldn’t know about any of that. It’s weird though, this indexfal glitch looks like it’s using the colour palette for the default player sprite from Lightspeed and Darkmatter. We were trying to make sure the sequel didn’t ship with that bug but that’s the one from the sequel.

Anonymous Agent: If it’s from Lightspeed and Darkmatter, as you say, then why is it not like the other gored Monommy?

Convict Alexandra Stella: We didn’t make the gorey ones. How many times do I have to say it? Chaos type is not a type of Monommy.

Anonymous Agent: Of course it isn’t a type of Monommy. It’s one Monommy on its own. And it’s name is Reklauzolth.

Convict Alexandra Stella: I have no idea what you’re talking about. Whatever it is, it’s not my creation. Not my team’s creation. Not a Monommy.

Anonymous Agent: As far as I’m concerned, every
